Rey Valentin is one of the latino actors to watch in 2011-2012. His acting career has grown dramatically since his move to Los Angeles from from New York City in 2006 .
From guest spots on shows like Human Target, NCIS, The Mentalist along with the HBO hit mini series Generation Kill. He also starred oppoisite Harrison Ford, Ray Liotta, and Ashley Judd in Wanye Krammer’ Crossing Over.” The young man is non stop and on a mission. When asked how he felt about representing the Latino community of actors here is what he had to say:
Latino actors like javier Bardem and Benico del Toro are making it possible to reconsider the whole latino actor things. In the past many actors felt boxed in when labeled as a latino actor. But now Hollywood is more open to writing more juicy roles for latin actors. We still have a long way to have go but the doors are definatley more open then they were 10 years ago.
Rey is currently working on a new indie film called Samantha opposiste Qorianka Kilcher. He plays a cyber crime agent on the run to save Samantha from a major kidnapping from the mexican cartel. “I love where the passsionate filmakers are taking this film.” The major point in the film centers around the battle between the ingedious popluation, drug cartel and mexian governemnet. “I love that we are making a film about current events. I also love working with Eric Chen from Impact Stunts. The stunt work and action packed drama is sure to turn heads!” Rey is currently training with Wushu Master Eric Chen to prepare for the Bourne Identity style fight scenes.

“Latino actors have to stay busy says Rey Valentin. “We have never had a window of opportunity like we do right now!” Currently Rey Valentin is touring the film festival circuit in between shooting with his lead role in CHERRY. The film which premeired in Karlovy Vary is turing snagging awards! Winner of best producers at the beverly hills film festival along with winning best audience choice award in the Charleston International Film Festival. Just recenlty it has been accepted to slate in the 2011 HBO latino Film Festival in New York City.
